Slumber

For the first time the exhibition house HAUNT opens its doors to offer a first glimpse of the building, the yard and the garden at Kluckstraße 23 – 10785 Berlin.
The whole estate was a former education centre for the park management of the City of Berlin. As this place was abandoned for over six years, time literally stood still. In some niches and cracks nature started to take over again, the architecture represents long gone visions of modernity in the 70s and the regular noise and activities of the streets seemed to be reduced by COVID-19 pandemic consequences and blocked by surrounding buildings. The whole area breathes slowly, but nevertheless indicates potential to be activated with the snap of a finger, like waking from slumber. Now artists will explore the newly opened space and position their works in various constellations within this decelerated environment.
HAUNT is run by the art collective Frontviews. Our members look forward to welcoming you at this first preview. Due to the COVID-19 safety measures, there will be no opening event, just a steady presence, respiration and exchange during the opening times of the whole four days.
